Located on the outskirts of Rockford’s beautiful countryside, Blackhawk Valley is one of the best-kept secrets of the Midwest! You don’t have to leave the resort to have fun with a playground, mini golf, or basketball (just to name a few) or you can choose to just kick back and relax as you soak up nature at its finest. This resort is complimented on the well-kept grounds and clean facilities, the huge mature oak trees that provide great shade, and the large level campsites. If you’re an adventure seeker and like to explore outside the resort, you’ll be excited to know that Blackhawk Valley is inside a secluded valley of the Kishwaukee River and campers can choose to spend their day tubing or canoeing down “The Kish.” This river is too shallow in parts for motorized boats so it is known for tubing and paddling. There’s nothing better than rounding up some friends, packing a cooler and launching into the cool water for a day of fun gently floating along. If you want to explore the local area, Rockford is the City of Gardens and Rivers and has plenty of things to do and see. And bonus!
